Academy of France in Rome, Stay at the Villa Medici

Villa Medici welcomes artists or researchers already engaged in professional life, to enable them to carry out a personal project of research and creation. The 2012 selection is open to all candidates over the age of 20 and under the age of 45 on 31 December 2012, without any nationality criteria.

Candidates must speak French. They can apply for all disciplines of literary and artistic creation or for art history and restoration of works of art or monuments.

Applicants must submit a project defining the purpose of their work or research during their stay. The duration of the stay is 12 months, which can be extended to 18 months. The winners will be welcomed at Villa Medici from April 2013.

The competition is open in the following disciplines: :

Architecture

Plastic arts

Cinema and television (writing a script)

Design (product design, graphic design, as well as any field of creation

related to the field of fashion)

Art history in the sense «Art history» (ex.musicology)

Literature

Music (musical composition)

Photography

Restoration of works of art and monuments

Scenography, Direction and choreography

In 2012, 19 positions will be open across all disciplines.
