Château de Coucy
Xiii-shapede century by Enguerrand III and transformed into a seigneurial palace in XIVe by Enguerrand VII, Coucy Castle was considered one of the largest fortresses in the medieval West. Then became royal property, it will be dismantled in the XVIIe century at the time of the Fronde then turned into a stone quarry. In the XIXe, Viollet-le-Duc then undertook its preservation. In 1917, the German army destroyed its five huge towers.
