Since the 10th century, the Puy has been one of the starting points of the pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela. Crowds of pilgrims come to worship the famous Black Virgin of Puy. A vast ensemble of buildings joined by a Romanesque cloister testifies to the power of the canons of the cathedral. New visiting spaces opened since 2018 allow to understand the architectural complexity of this cathedral ensemble.
