The Commission internationale du théâtre francophone (CITF), created in 1987 to promote the implementation of multilateral theatre creation and circulation projects, provides financial assistance through two programs:
The Creation/Circulation Programme
It supports co-productions at all stages: creation, production and circulation. Each project must involve at least three artistic partners (including at least two companies) from three governments of French-speaking countries (member countries or observers of the Organisation internationale de la Francophonie), spread over at least three continents. It must also provide for a commitment and programming of creation on at least four dates during the year of application and the following year for creation, and/or provide for a commitment or programming of creation on at least ten dates in the year of application and/or the following year for traffic.
The third partner can be an artistic designer (author, creator, lights, costumes, sets, music, etc.) or a producer (festival, venue, etc.) who takes part artistically in the process from the moment of conception.
The grant will constitute a supplementary contribution of less than or equal to 30% of the total budget for creation, and 50% for traffic.
