Dedicated to the conservation, experimentation and dissemination of photographic know-how, the International College of Photography offers two annual research-creation grants.


Research Program: The Living Experience

At a time of ecological crisis, it is urgent to overcome the dualism established between humanity and nature in order to rethink our relations with the rest of life. What place can photography occupy in these profound and necessary challenges that break with any anthropocentric vision of the world?

This edition of the research-creation grant of the International College of Photography The aim is to encourage and support approaches which, beyond a strict capture, akin to a form of sampling or even classification, will make photography and its processes an experimental tool capable of offering new visions, images and, ultimately, living experiences.

Accompaniment

Two financings of 4,500 euros to accompany two projects where the history of photography and the future of images are intimately linked and where the living heritage of know-how will be celebrated according to the values promoted by the International College of Photography.

After a call for applications, the winners will be accompanied throughout the year, a restitution of their research may take the form of a public conference and a hanging in the small gallery The Developer, Paris branch of the International College of Photography.

Eligibility

This call is open to applicants living or working in France.

Application procedures

Application form in pdf format (less than 70 MB) to be sent before 31 December 2022 comprising:

  • A presentation of your artistic practice (about 300 words)
  • Your project for the research-creation grant (about 500 words)
  • A portfolio presenting your work
  • A biography (about 200 words) and a CV
