The mission of the École Nationale de Cirque de Châtellerault – ENCC – is to provide training in circus arts. She has chosen for several years to focus on the creative circus. In addition to its recognized activities in the field of circus arts training, the school welcomes companies in residence.
The ENCC encourages experimentation, reflection and creative research and plans to strengthen the link as a transdisciplinary field between the new creations of residents and the artistic training of students of the specialty circus arts and of the class of preparation for teaching superior, creating an active, critical and dynamic environment.
A maximum of 4 projects will be selected after having been selected by a committee of managers of structures (circus poles, national or conventional stages) and of professional(le)s that will be organized by the ENCC in May 2023.

Circassian and Addiction Companies
The choice of the companies will be focused on the richness and originality of their subject, the artistic and aesthetic approaches but also on their specific educational proposal in interaction with the activities developed by the ENCC.

Candidacy
The application must be completed online and must include:
- Application form (general and administrative information of the company)
- Specific educational proposal (for example: creation course, writing, acting, dramaturgy, music, dance, etc.). Duration: maximum 10 hours. Target audience: ENCC Advanced Education Class.
- Attachments: artistic file including the presentation of the company (artistic approach, history), the intention note, the synopsis of the project, complementary elements (extracts of texts, sketches, photos, audios, etc.), and technical requirements for residency.
Deadline for submission of applications: Thursday, April 21, 2023 included.
The National Circus School of Châtellerault is supported by the Ministry of Culture/ DRAC Nouvelle Aquitaine. It provides ministry-approved training in preparation for circus colleges.
