Châteauvert, located in the Var in the Natura 2000 area, a European network of natural sites, has initiated the creation of a cultural area consisting of a sculpture garden and a contemporary art centre. The sculpture garden has about twenty works of art and is being transformed. The work of art will take place at the entrance of the Chemin de la Réparade to prefigure the entrance to the cultural domain.


The work contributes to:

  • To highlight the entrance of the sculpture garden
  • Must take environmental considerations into account and demonstrate energy efficiency

The artwork is for everyone:

  • Walkers
  • Motorists

The installation of the work will take place during 2023.


The estimated budget for this call for proposals is €60,000 including tax. This amount is subject to change but will allow applicants to understand the scope of the expected project.
This budget includes all costs related to the project: remuneration of the winner for the study phase, the design, the realization and its follow-up, production costs, incidental and travel expenses, delivery and installation of the work, related taxes, assignment of copyright…
Applicants who are accepted to submit a project under Phase 2 and not selected at the end of the procedure will receive an indemnity of €2,000 including taxes.

Individual artists or artistic teams are invited to submit their applications. The deadline for submitting applications is 15 January 2023.

To be admissible, the application file must consist of the following elements:

Art file

  • Curriculum vitae with biographical information and professional credentials (in case of grouping a CV for each member of the grouping). The applicant may attach a copy of the diplomas or credentials obtained.
  • A cover letter allowing the candidate to understand the project’s issues (2 A4 pages maximum)
  • An updated artistic dossier (artistic approach, visual of significant works and especially those carried out in the framework of projects in the public space).

Three candidates will be selected according to the procedures set out in the call for applications. They will visit the site on 10 March 2023 and will be invited to propose a project at the end of April 2023 before the steering committee composed of a collective of residents and professionals in the visual arts sector.
