For the establishment of territorial artistic residence as part of the 2023/2024 artistic season of the Tanneries - Centre d'art contemporain
Since 2016, the Centre d'art contemporain les Tanneries has been a link for dissemination and support for the creation and production of contemporary art on the national art scene.
Anxious to generate the most favorable conditions for the emergence of artistic gesture, research and experimentation in the field of visual and visual arts, the center of contemporary art develops in accompaniment a strong territorial policy favorable to the paths of artistic and cultural education (convention National Education; partnerships arts higher education) but also, through multiple forms, to the appropriation of the stakes of contemporary creation by the inhabitants of the territories invested, whether they are geographical and proximity, those of public policies related to the city, health, social accompaniment, or even the prison field.
To promote the stakes of its artistic and cultural project, the centre of contemporary art has been developing, since 2021, with the support of the DRAC Centre-Val de Loire and its Pôle des publics et des Territoires, each artistic season, a long residency project (6 months) It allows to welcome an artist. For the centre of contemporary art, as well as for the DRAC Centre-Val de Loire, the ambition is to include these projects in the territories, taking into account the pool of life of the public concerned.
For the 2023 edition, the organization of the residence and its «territorial» nature will be directly linked to the project proposed by the artist who will find the conditions for its restitution in the form of a personal exhibition, produced over the duration and in line with the conditions of implementation of the territorial residence, within the spaces of the contemporary art centre and as part of the 2023/2024 season (first quarter 2024).

07 June 2023: deadline for receipt of the memorandum of intent and the provisional budget
14 June 2023: jury and artist selection
04 September 2023: Artistic residency begins
February 25, 2023: end of residency period
24 February 2024: opening of the exhibition related to the residence
28 April 2024: end of the exhibition
