Since 10 years, the number of professionals in the audiovisual and entertainment has increased by more than half (56%): they were about 87.000 in 1995 and 135.000 in 2004. Musicians and technicians have benefited most from this growth. Meanwhile, the number of companies in the sector grew at a rapid pace, especially from the early 2000's, particularly in the performing arts sector. The job, however, has not kept pace, resulting in an automatic drop since 1986 a third of the average annual volume of intermittent work and a quarter of the average amount of compensation.
