Events
European Heritage Days
During a weekend, all over France, public and private owners of historic monuments, members of heritage protection associations, heritage curators, restorers of heritage property and objects, cultural mediators, Chief Architects of Historic Monuments… mobilize to showcase heritage in all its forms (material, intangible and natural). They offer visitors in situ or connected to dedicated digital networks, numerous animations and cultural experiences: guided tours, demonstrations of know-how, exhibitions, games/quizzes, readings, etc.
Look up
Jointly launched by the Ministries of Culture and National Education and Youth and Sports in 2019, the event “Look up!” Invites teachers to take their students out of the classroom, to meet heritage sites during a day specifically dedicated to schools, on the eve of the European Heritage Days and the National Days of Architecture.
A day of eye education, outside the walls, to learn to read architecture, discover museums, remarkable gardens, practice the reading of landscapes, become aware of local heritage, urban planning, learn to decipher the city or the countryside... "Look up!" builds on the “Les Enfants du patrimoine” scheme run by the Fédération nationale des Conseils d’architecture, d’urbanisme et de l’environnement (FNCAUE).
European Night of Museums
Each year and in 2020 for the 16th edition, more than 3,000 museums will open their doors free of charge throughout Europe: a unique opportunity to discover the time of an evening of permanent collections and special temporary exhibitions.

Equities
This is my legacy!
Created at the initiative of the Ministry of Culture in 2005, in partnership with the National Agency for Territorial Cohesion (formerly the General Commission for Territorial Equality), the It’s my heritage! offers arts and cultural education projects mainly during school holidays.
This operation is deployed in all types of heritage establishments (monuments, museums, archaeological sites, archives, intangible heritage, industrial or natural sites, urban and rural complexes, etc.). The multidisciplinary approach allows young people to appropriate the heritage in a very experimental way: making documentaries, sensory visits, live performances, plastic arts, etc.
History by the image
The History by Image site has been available online for free since 2001 and is aimed at all, teachers, students, families, etc. but also to all the curious, lovers of art and history. It gathers today 1530 articles and soon 3000 images. With 3.8 million annual visitors, it is one of the indispensable resource sites in history and art history. Widely consulted by students and teachers, it is part of the Eduthèque portal of the Ministry of National Education.
The class, the work!
"The class, the work!" is a joint operation of the Ministries of Culture and National Education, Youth and Sport set up in 2013. This device allows students to visit the museum throughout the year, to study, in consultation with the public services team, one or more works of a museum, to imagine productions related to the work (literary texts, sound, visual, choreographic, etc.) and create a mediation of the works studied, presented to the public during the European Night of Museums.
Labels
Houses of the Illustrious
Created in 2011, the label «Maisons des Illustres» indicates places whose purpose is to preserve and transmit the memory of men and women who have distinguished themselves in the political, social and cultural history of France. The label is awarded by the Ministry of Culture for a renewable period of 5 years. It represents an official recognition of the heritage interest of the House and gives rise to various benefits. In 2019, eleven new houses were awarded the label. The network now has 245 houses. As part of the deconcentration of the devices under the DGP, the label Maisons des Illustres has been deconcentrated since 01/01/2020. It is now up to the Drac to set up its procedure.
