By launching the Prix de la Création française du jeu vidéo, the Minister of Culture and
Communication wishes to promote the renewal of creation
video game. This prize, awarded by a jury specifically convened by the Ministry,
rewards the most innovative French game in all its creative components
(graphics, sound, scenario, game mechanics) selected among the games in
competition at the Video Game Festival. The jury was composed of:
- Bruno Bonnell, President of Robopolis ;
- Abdel Bounane, Managing Editor of Amusement magazine ;
- Marie-Anne Fontenier, Director of the Supinfocom Group ;
- Pierre Giner, artist ;
- Eric Viennot, co-founder and creative director - Lexis Numerique.
The winner will be able to go to the world video game show in Montreal thanks to the
partnership with the Office franco-québecois pour la jeunesse (OFQJ).
The Video Game Festival is the largest event of its kind in France
and the second in Europe. It allows you to discover the new
games. Organized as part of the Festival, the Milthon ceremony, the awards
European video game, each year reward the best video game works
and their creators.
Quantic Dream Studio
David Cage founded the studio Quantic Dream in 1997 in Paris and is joined by
Guillaume de Fondaumière as Deputy Chief Executive Officer. Quantic Dream
is recognized internationally for its innovations in the fields of
interactive storytelling and emotion in video games. Game production studio
specialized video in the development of original intellectual properties, it
works with major publishers such as Eidos, Vivendi Universal Games, Microsoft
Game Studios, Atari and Sony Computer Entertainment.
The game «Heavy Rain»
Heavy Rain is a psychological thriller with many twists, a game
video in which the player’s choices and actions can have consequences
on the course of history.
The jury highlighted the remarkable graphic and technical advances of this
game, as well as its very original script construction and suitable to renew the
language and logic of video games.
Heavy Rain was made with the help of the Centre national du cinéma et de l'image
animated (CNC) and in cooperation with Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide
Studios.
Frédéric Mitterrand, Minister of Culture and Communication, presented the 1st prize of the French Creation of Video Games 2010 to Quantic Dream studio for the game «Heavy Rain», Friday, September 10, 2010.
As part of the 5th Video Game Festival held in Paris, FrédéricMitterrand presented the 1st prize of the French Creation of Video Games 2010, during the Milthon 2010 laceérémonie, to the Quantic Dream studio for the game «Heavy Rain». This trophy was made by Philippe Favier at the Cité de la céramique de Sèvres.
