Epiphany

Epiphany commemorates the announcement of the good tidings of the birth of Christ to the shepherds and the Wise Men. The history of the Wise Men is a mixture of fact and fiction, and tradition has often confused the Shepherds with
the Wise Men. Only the Gospels according to Saint Luke and Saint Matthew mention the birth and childhood of Christ; however, there is no mention in Luke of Wise Men nor of the flight into Egypt, and Matthew does not refer to either the manger or the shepherds. |
