Capital from the ambulatory
Capital from the ambulatory
Inside the church, and in particular inside its choir, it is also possible to admire several finely carved Romanesque capitals. In the ambulatory, to the right of the entrance to the axial chapel, there is the only historiated capital. The Christ is to be seen, giving a blessing with his right hand and holding the Book in his left hand. He is standing in a vesica, supported by two angels. Four other angels complete the scene. The author of this work (or perhaps the person who commissioned it) signed it, but part of the inscription has disappeared, leaving only ME FECIT, and leaving us in ignorance of the artist's name.
