Truck belonging to the Lumière company (Ilford private archives : autochrome). The company, founded on January 5, 1884, under the corporate name, Antoine Lumière et ses fils, (Antoine Lumière and sons), became the Société anonyme des plaques et papiers photographiques Antoine Lumière et ses fils (Antoine Lumière and sons, plates and photographic papers corporation) on May 2, 1892, then the Union photographique industrielle, établissements Lumière et J. Jougla réunis (Lumière and J. Jougla Industrial Photographic Union) on March 9, 1911, and finally into the Société Lumière. (Lumière Company) in 1928. For more than 50 years, it produced the Blue Label snapshot plate and from 1907 on the autochrome plate, on which Louis had been working since 1903.
