Crowned king very at a very young age, he became sole King of the Franks in 613. Promulgated the Edict of Paris in 614, which brought peace to the entire kingdom.

A conquering king. Surrounded by good advisors (like Eligius), he developed a brilliant court and richly endowed the monastery of Saint-Denis. He was immortalized in the 17th century by the song The Good King Dagobert.
