Once settled on the lake's shores, the inhabitants of Colletière have organized their life remarkably well. They used almost all the natural resources but also those of agriculture and breeding. Moreover, many tools, most of which have been made on the site itself, prove the existence of a polyvalent craftsmanship : wood and skin craft, cooperage, weaving, and even metallurgy have been practised in the small village of Charavines. This almost totally autarkic society, with diversified economic functions, seems to master most of the production and transformation techniques. |
