This craft was used for exploration of the wreck of the Alabama (1864), which sank to a depth of 60 meters off Cherbourg, in a zone with a strong alternating current that can reach a velocity of four knots. The operation was carried out by the CSS Alabama Society, in conjunction with Electricité de France and the HYTEC Society.
