This official signing by the six partner States of the dossier
for registration of “The architectural and Urban Works of Le Corbusier”
will take place at the Ministry for Culture and Communication.
This dossier, which was previously chosen by the National Council of French
World Heritage Assets (Comité national des biens français du
patrimoine mondial), will be officially deposited at the World Heritage Centre
on 31st January 2008. The World Heritage Council will make its decision in
July 2009.
The dossier brings together twenty-two major works of Le Corbusier’s
architectural and urban production spread throughout the world and presented
according to different typologies: the workshop- residence,
the detached house, standardised housing, collective housing, sacred architecture,
typical standard major programmes, urbanism and, last but not least, public
buildings.
Christine Albanel is very pleased that six different countries are now taking
part in this ambitious and innovative project initiated in France in 2002
by the Ministry for Culture and Communication and Fondation
Le Corbusier, and whose key interest is to propose a series of modern architecture
established on an international scale.
